Belgian Malinois are described as confident, smart, and hardworking dogs who are categorized in the herding group of dog breeds. Their coats are usually fawn to mahogany colored with a black mask on the face, black ears, and black tips on the hairs. Fawn colored Malinois sometimes have a tiny bit of white on the tips of their toes or a small white spot on the chest. Malinois are constant shedders, but they shed heavily twice a year. They are considered a large dog breed with a height ranging from 24-26 inches for the males, and 22-24 inches for the females. They have an average weight of 60-80 pounds for the males and 40-60 pounds for the females. Their life expectancy is 14-16 years.
