Akitas are described as courageous, dignified, and profoundly loyal dogs who are categorized in the working group of dog breeds. Akitas come in a large variety of coat colors including, white, red with white mask, red with self-mask, red with black overlay, red, silver with black overlay, silver brindle, red brindle, fawn brindle, black brindle, black with silver undercoat, black, and liver color. They are known to shed quite a bit, and do require constant grooming. They are considered a large dog breed with a height ranging from 26-28 inches for the males, and 24-26 inches for the females. They have an average weight of 100-130 pounds for the males, and 70-100 pounds for the females. Their life expectancy is 10-13 years.

Basset Hounds are described as charming, patient, and low-key dogs who are categorized in the hound group of dog breeds. They have a variety of colors, but the most common colors are tri-color tan, black, and white; black and white; brown and white; or red and white. Basset Hounds are known to shed, but they do not shed much compared to other dog breeds. Bernese Mountain Dogs are described as good natured, calm, and strong dogs who are categorized in the working group of god breeds. The Bernese Mountain dogs coast is tri-colored. The ground color is jet black, and the markings are rich rust and clear white. The Bernese Mountain Dog has a double coat, with a longer outer coat and a wooly undercoat. Berners shed a fair amount, even more so during shedding season, which occurs twice a year. They are considered a large dog breed with a height ranging of 25-27.5 inches for the males, and 23-26 inches for the females. The Bichon Frise is described as a very playful, curious, and peppy dog who is categorized in the non-sporting group of dog breeds. Bichon Frise coats will always be white with black noses and eyes. The Bichon is considered to be relatively hypoallergenic, as the breed sheds very little because the shed hair is caught up in the undercoat. They are considered a small dog breed with a height ranging from 9.5-11.5 inches and an average weight of 12-18 pounds for both the males and females. Their life expectancy is 14-15 years.

The Border Collie has a thick double coat which sheds moderately throughout the year, and very heavily during shedding season. They are considered a medium sized dog breed with a height ranging from 19-22 inches for the males, and 18-21 inches for the females. They have an average weight of 30-55 pounds for both genders. They have a life expectancy of 12-15 years.

Boston Terriers can be described as friendly, bright, and assuming dogs who are categorized in the non-sporting group of dog breeds. Their most common colors include brindle, seal, or black, with white markings. Boston Terriers are a low shedding breed, yet they do shed very little throughout most of the year, the shedding does tend to increase once or twice per year as the seasons change.  They are considered a small dog breed with a height ranging from 15 -17 inches and an average weight of 12-25 pounds for both genders.
