Portuguese Water Dogs are described as affectionate, adventurous, and athletic dogs who are categorized in the working group of dog breeds. Their coat color comes in black, white or various shades of brown. Combinations of black or brown and white are also seen. Portuguese Water Dogs don’t shed much and are often considered hypoallergenic. They are considered a medium sized dog with a height ranging from 20-23 inches for the males, and 17-21 inches for the females. Their average weight is 42-60 pounds for the males, and 35-50 pounds for the females. They have a life expectancy of 11-13 years.
