The Shih Tzu is an affectionate, playful, and outgoing dog who is categorized in the toy group of dog breeds. They come in a variety of colors including black, white, silver, blue, red, gold, brindle, and liver. It is also common that this breed can have different patterns of colors combinations as well. Shih Tzus are said to shed less than other breeds and often only when washed or brushed. There is one exception to this lack of shedding, which occurs when Shih Tzu change their coats. They are considered small dogs with a height ranging from 9-10.5 inches and an average weight of 9-16 pounds for both genders. Their life expectancy is 10-18 years.
